Neighborhood Road Improvements

We are pleased to inform you of our upcoming road and driveway improvement project! This is a large project and we will need your cooperation in order to complete this improvement to your neighborhood.

WEEK OF APRIL 23-27: DRIVEWAY REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT (KNIGHT & DANIELS STREETS) Beginning on April 23, Willard Asphalt will begin removing the existing asphalt in the driveways on Knight and Daniels Street. During this week, we ask that Residents park on the street or in a parking space in the off street parking area.

WEEK OF APRIL 30 – MAY 4: ROAD AND OFF-STREET PARKING REPLACEMENT (KNIGHT & DANIELS STREETS) Beginning April 30, the off street parking spaces on Knight and Daniels Streets will be milled, followed by the road. Willard Asphalt will begin milling the even side of the street first, followed by the odd side.

We know this project will be a bit of an inconvenience, however these improvements are very much needed and we appreciate your cooperation. As the work begins, we will be in the neighborhood to assist with parking questions and concerns. If you will be away from home during this time frame, please contact our office immediately at 573-329-0122 so we can discuss where to park your vehicle in an alternate location.

Mass Notification System Test

Reminder: Mass Notification Systems Test will take place tomorrow, 04 April 2012; 1230hrs.

Please read and disseminate to ALL – additionally request distribution to family members residing on FLW:

At 1230hrs on 04 April 2012, the Fort Leonard Wood Installation / Emergency Operation Center (IOC/EOC) will be conducting a monthly test of the Mass Notification Systems. This will include the Desk Top Alert (message that pops up on all up and running computer screens connected to the FLW LAN), Desk top Alert email & SMS text message if user has it established; the Communicator (telephonic notification of an event to selected individuals), the Cable Override System (scrolls across Cable America stations), and the outdoor Sirens & in-building public address systems (Public Address, Severe Weather Test, Attack Test, and All Clear Test) on the installation.

Actual Emergency:

Severe Weather: (Male Voice) 60 sec steady tone followed by: "MAY I HAVE YO UR ATTENTION? THIS IS A SEVERE WEATHER WARNING. TAKE REQUIRED ACTIONS AND TUNE INTO LOCAL RADIO FOR THE LATEST UPDATE". This sequence to be repeated three times.

Attack: (Male Voice) 60 sec Pulsed Wail Tone. Followed by: "YOUR ATTENTION, THIS IS AN EMERGENCY. TAKE SHELTER IN A FACILITY". This sequence to be repeated three times.

All Clear: (Male Voice) 7 cycles of Westminster Chime followed by: "MAY I H AVE YOUR ATTENTION PLEASE? ALL CLEAR, THE EMERGENCY HAS ENDED". This sequence to be repeated three times.

System Tests:

Severe Weather Test: (Female Voice) "THIS IS A TEST. IN EVENT OF A SEVERE WEATHER YOU WILL HEAR THIS SOUND" followed by 60 sec. of steady tone. This sequence to be repeated three (3) times.

Attack Test: (Female Voice) "THIS IS A TEST. IN THE EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY YOU WILL HEAR THIS SOUND" followed by 60 sec. of Pulsed Wail tone. This sequence to be repeated three (3) times.

All Clear Test: (Female Voice) "THIS IS A TEST. THE FOLLOWING SOUND IS FOR ALL CLEAR" followed by seven (7) cycles of Westminster Chime tone. This sequence to be repeated three (3) times.

Public Address (Giant Voice – delivered through outdoor speakers/sirens) Test Message:

Start Message: THIS IS A TEST OF THE FORT LEONARD WOOD EMERGENCY ALERT SYSTEM. IN THE EVENT OF AN ACTUAL EMERGENCY YOU WOULD BE GIVEN INSTRUCTIONS TO FOLLOW. THIS ONLY A TEST.

End Message: THIS CONCLUDES THE TEST OF THE FORT LEONARD WOOD EMERGENCY ALERT SYSTEM.

Fort Leonard Wood conducts Mass Notification Systems tests on the first Wednesday of the month at 1230, in conjunction with the State of Missouri tests, unless inclimate weather is projected and then the test is moved to the next duty day.

Additional information regarding sirens: Outdoor siren systems are specifically designed to warn individuals who are outside to get inside immediately and seek shelter. They are not designed to be heard inside homes, though they often are – depending on how far from the pole a house is.

Parking Safety Reminder

We need your help! Please remember that parking along the streets of housing areas is permitted only when vehicles are parked with the direction of traffic and on the side of the street with even numbered quarters (house numbers, not Directorate of Public Works (DPW) building numbers).

Lawn Mowing Schedule

Lawn Mowing Season is just around the corner! Beginning on March 19th, our Lawn Care contractor will begin making their rounds throughout our community to prepare for the upcoming Lawn Mowing Season (actual lawn mowings will begin April 1st). Please take a look at the lawn mowing schedule to find your scheduled day. Thank you for helping us keep our community looking its best!

Attention Residents in Eagle Pointe

For our Residents in Eagle Pointe, we have received notification that Pence School is scheduled to be demolished with work beginning on February 8, 2012.  The work is expected to be during the hours of 0730 to 1630 Monday thru Friday.   We have not been notified on how long the process is expected to take, but as we receive more information, we will provide updates. During this time, there will be additional vehicles and people in the area, so please be cautious.
